In December 2015, our MD Ben Guy wrote an article for Packaging News offering his advice to contract packers on how they can be embracing new technologies which help to strengthen supplier-customer relationships. His top tips included choosing and designing software solutions with the team, site and processes in mind, as well as ensuring continuous evaluation and iterating to ensure that the technology fulfils the needs of the individual company.

His advice can be summed up in five phrases; take small steps, keep everyone involved, be smart, be yourself and be selfish:

“Sharing good industry practice should be encouraged, especially when it involves new technologies that make life easier. However sometimes you have to look after yourself first, so if bespoke software is the route you want to take, make this one of your business’s future USPs and strive to develop industry-leading technology that makes life easier for your business.”
